Improv Team Jam sign up form
Calling all Sacramento improv teams! Come take part in our team jam and get some stage time. Sign up your team to perform a ~10 minute set. New teams, seasoned teams, duo teams, and all teams welcome!
Sign up your team to perform a ~10 minute set (set times depend on the number of teams that show up). This will be a good chance to get some time on stage with your team in front of a friendly audience made up of the community.
DEADLINE: The deadline to sign up for this show is June 11th, end of day!
WHEN:
Saturday, June 21st at 9 PM. This show is approximately 1 hour long

WJ Geery Theater, 2130 L St, Sacramento, CA 95816
ACCESSIBILITY:
The entrance and audience area of the WJ Geery Theatre is wheelchair accessible. The bathroom is located upstairs. Please let us know if you need accommodations and we will do our best to support you. The show may contain bright lights and loud sounds. Ages 15+ recommended; discretion advised.
TICKETS:
$15, general admission. Performers get in for free; there is no fee to perform.

Sharks Barksley auditions
Term 3: September - December, 2025
Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of improv comedy? Sharks Barksley, a dynamic short form improv group, is holding auditions for our third term of 2025, and we want you to join us!
When: Monday, September 8th, 7-9 PM (please arrive 10-15 minutes early)
Where: Geery Theatre (2130 L Street, Sacramento, CA)
Who: Improvisers at least 18 years of age with some improv experience (includes classes)

Whether you're a seasoned improv artist or newer to the scene, Sharks Barksley offers a welcoming space to learn, perform, and have a blast. We also have monthly mixers every second Monday of the month at 5:30 before practice to hang out and get to know each other as humans.

The details
What to Expect:
Terms: We have three terms each year. These auditions are for Term 3 (See below), September - December, 2025. Sign up for one or more terms based on your availability.
Rehearsals: Mondays from 7-9 PM at the Geery Theater. Performers should be available for and commit to attending at least 75% of rehearsals and at least 4 shows.
New Performers:
Can perform starting their second term to learn our games and style, unless they have completed our class series (Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced).
There will be a mandatory new performer orientation from 6:30 - 7 PM the day of the first rehearsal (9/15/25 for this term).

How to Prepare:
Dress for movement
We will be running through different improv warmups and testing your skills and performance with different short form improv games. We recommend watching some of our past shows to get a feel for what we’re after.
Getting to the venue:
The William J Geery Theater is a little green Victorian located at 2130 L St, Sacramento, CA 95816 (21st and L). There is free street parking available near the venue, so give yourself a little extra time to park. There’s no food or beverages other than water allowed in the theater.
