a Playful Narrative Longform Improv 6 Week Class

Super Scene

ABOUT:
Super Scene is a playful gateway format into the world of narrative longform improv.  In a Super Scene show, five directors are each in charge of directing their own separate multi-scene storylines, giving guidance and grief to the improvisers bringing the story to life.  Vying for the audience's favor, directors and storylines will be progressively eliminated throughout the show, until only a single director remains to complete their storyline with a final Super Scene.  This is a wonderful opportunity for improvisers to practice genre and story variety, directing skills, and extended narrative that keeps audiences excited!

PREREQUISITES:
This class is recommended for experienced improvisers and/or advanced level improv students. Students should feel fluent with improv fundamentals and stage presence/conventions. For questions, please reach out to andy@windhausimprov.com.

In this class, students will learn to...

  • Perform the Super Scene format, including a final show after the course has concluded.

  • Direct other improvisers towards successful  scene work and story creation.

  • Create multi-scene improvised plot lines that are tightly focused on protagonist needs and desires.

  • Play within multiple genres and story structures.

  • Create a diversity of tone and energy within a single performance.

Join us for Super Scene, a 6-week dive into the fast-paced, story-driven improv format where directors compete to tell the ultimate tale. You'll build skills in genre, narrative, and playful collaboration—all leading to a thrilling final showcase.
